Tales of the Black Feather Three and their exploits abound far and wide, and Wydrin of Crosshaven, Lord Aaron Frith and Sir Sebastian have become sell swords in demand. Having foiled powerful mages and evil magic, they now face a challenge unlike any before - in the form of Wydrin's mother.

Devinia the Red, notorious pirate and captain of the Poison Chalice, is intent on finding the fabled treasure hidden within the jungles of the cursed island of Euriale. She needs the skills of her daughter Wydrin and her companions to get there, and our heroes cannot resist the lure of coin and adventure. But no explorer has returned from the heart of the island, and it's not long before the Three find themselves in the clutches of peril. Deep within the island of the gods, there are remnants of forces best left undisturbed...

I'm not going to lie, I completely love this series and this is the final book, which makes me sad but the book was so awesome so the sadness is kind of pushed to the back of everything! I love this series because it's just completely brilliant, the characters are colourful and complex, there's many ships to ship, the world is vivid and pulls you and you can get lost in the story 100%. There's spades of originality, there's action, adventure, romance, humour, and more and there's never a dull moment in these books, they really do keep you entertained and keep your attention throughout the whole book.

This particular instalment I was so excited about. Wydrin is my favourite and I've always been curious about her mother who just happens to be a pirate and we got to see loads of her in this book, it was so awesome! There's pirates and treasure,  and Gods and a ghost and magic and it was just completely fantastic!

I loved reading this and seeing how the characters had changed since that first book but it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, Frith has some issues with magic and the whole Joah thing that went down last book. Sebastian is just plain depressed after the whole Dallen incident and it's not helping with Wydrin and Frith being so cute and adorable together. Wydrin is trying to protect everyone and ends up in plenty of danger, but to be honest, she's probably the most okay out of the bunch of them!

There's plenty of other familiar faces that make an appearance, most importantly Ephemeral who I just love, and her husband Terin. There's actually loads but ya know spoilers, and Ephemeral shouldn't be too much of a spoiler! There's also tonnes of other characters who are just as well created as those we've known a while, I particularly loved Devinia which isn't really a surprise given how much I love Wydrin and she's Wydrin's mother! She's actually quite similar to Wydrin, they can both hold their own, they're both good fighters and so on, but Devinia does have her differences. I enjoyed all of her scenes, especially as I liked Augusta as well! Oh and Devinia and Wydrin's scenes together where pretty hilarious!

There's a sense of foreboding as you're reading at some points, especially the beginning and you know....them being them, everything goes wrong and they all end up in danger and it all kicks off fairly fast! I love how well paced the book it is, it has the perfect pace, without being rushed or too slow, and it keeps up a steady pace until the end. Although you end up so hooked on the book you don't really pay attention much to the pace anyway!

So....danger. What kind of danger do they find themselves in? Well Frith narrowly escapes a mutiny on the pirate ship, Devinia and Augusta are facing down some not very nice fellow pirates who take a turn for the crazy shall we say. Sebastian is hell bent on this ghost, and the ghost is hell bent on finding The Spinner and is more than he seems. Wydrin? Well Wydrin finds herself with a complete and utter nut job who's fanatical about the old Gods. Standard really. But that's just the beginning, there's a bit of a Back To The Future moment as they all go charging head first in to the past in order to stop said nut job from doing something really really stupid that everyone who's ever seen BTF knows you shouldn't do! Which also presents new dangers in the form of the Gods themselves, not to mention some characters/events we've heard about in other books and now get a front row seat for!

Wydrin continues to be my favourite character I'm not going to lie to you guys, she's just so awesome and I ship her and Frith SO BADLY. They where so cute in this book and it was too much for my feels to handle! But Sebastian also gets his shot at romance and OMG YOU GUYS JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU READ IT!

There's some heart stopping plot twists, plenty of badass action scenes, plenty of humour to make you laugh, honestly this book cracks me up so much! I just loved going through the story having more and more added to the plot, more things come out, reading all the different POV's and then finally coming to the ending. I mean....it was perfect. The ending was so, so perfect and it made me choke up a little bit because PERFECT. Also don't be scared about how huge this book is, because honestly, it's so easy to read, you breeze through it thanks to the writing and the characters and the plot!

I have reviewed all three books and this is all I'm going to say about this one otherwise I'll just be repeating all my ravings from the other books! Just give this series a go, it's truly brilliant!
