Akame's physical recovery after her harrowing experience with the Oarburghs is relatively quick, but her mind is still racked with confusion. The suffering of the people, not to mention the suffering of her sister, is undeniable. But rash action on a team where even perceived betrayal is dealt with swiftly and harshly would be dangerous. Akame must resolve her intentions soon. The enemies of Squad "A" are growing-and even now, they are gathering together to take out their common foe...

Things are a bit tense this volume, as we're post battle and Akame has to recover...but her superiors are curious as to what the Oarburghs may have told her. Plus Budo pops up as Akames new trainer with focus shifting to levelling up her skills....unfortunately she now has doubts about the Empire. I did find Greens perspective on things quite interesting, but considering that a certain event is presumably coming up on us soon...the tension is ramping up and I figure Green isn't going to end well.

We get a brief glimpse of Leone and hear about Najenda, and we have a nice little time skip to move things along now that Akame's seen another side of things. The assassin's have levelled up, and Akame's ready to go out on her first mission since the Oarburgh incident. We're going to have quite the clash as there's a group teaming up with the bandit's they're going after, and they have quite a deep grudge against the assassination unit.

We've got action, we've got some "oh snap" moments, there's a surprise character popping up and all in all...we're moving at a nice speed towards the moment we've all been waiting for! The pace has always been quite good for this series, but I like how time is being handled, and things are kept moving. We're getting the details we need and want, but we're not spending forever doing it. I also feel like we're picking up more speed as we head towards the critical moment?!
