2016 Classics Challenge: April

Hey guys!
I'm another classic down, a lot sooner than usual as well! There's no video for this months, which sucks I know and it'll annoy me to be missing a month, but I should be back to normal soon and doing videos again! I think with this months classic it's safe to say I'm a Jane Austen fangirl! I've read Pride and Prejudice and Emma as part of this challenge and Persuasion when I was reviewing an edition of it, and I'm completely loving each one more than the other! I think Emma is now my favourite! I'll probably say the same each time I read a new Austen one that I haven't read before!

"I always deserve the best treatment because I never put up with any other"

As you can see, I read Emma this month and I got on with it a lot better than when I first started this challenge. I loved Pride and Prejudice but I did struggle a bit with the writing and the way of speech, now, seeing as Emma is written by the same author, I'm going to assume that I got on better with this because I've not gotten used to the writing of the time!

Emma is all about Emma Woodhouse, a single lady living with her fragile father, Emma see's no need for marriage or love as she's perfectly content with her life as it is. Emma does however, enjoy playing with the love lives of others, she's something of a match maker. When Emma decides to ignore the advice of her good friend Mr Knightley and attempt to matchmake her protegee Harriet Smith, things don't go according to plan and there are consequences that she never expected.

When I Discovered This Classic

I'm (as usual) not entirely sure, Pride and Prejudice is the Austen classic I knew about first, and I guess I found out about this at around the same time, probably when I was reading about the author herself perhaps? Or when I started collecting classics!

Why I Chose To Read It

I chose to read Emma because I'd just won a copy of it, and I wasn't too sure what classic to read next or what options to get you guys to vote on, so I thought....why not read another Austen?! It helps that it also sounds really fun, I mean....matchmaking and romance and how wrong it can go...what's not to like?!

What Makes It A Classic

I'm inclined to say that it's an Austen book so of course it's a classic! But honestly, the writing, the romance, the wit all of it make it a classic. It explores relationships while being humorous, and giving us a brilliant romance. We have a flawed female lead, she's certainly not perfect and you see her come to some realisations and see her change over the course of the book. It's just brilliantly done. Then there's the whole matchmaking catastrophe trying to match people up who like other people and so on, and you can see that in contemporary books done in different ways, and I feel like that plot in Emma is the original as it where.

What I Thought of This Classic

I have to say, I haven't disliked an Austen book so far and after reading Emma I'm reluctant to point one out as a favourite. Every time I read a different Austen book it's my new favourite so I've decided I'll no longer have a favourite! This book was a lot of fun for me, because I could tell or had suspicions about who really liked who and I found a lot of humour in the book. I loved Emma and Knightley's banter, and their scenes together, I actually loved them so much as a couple. I could understand his actions, but Emma had no idea, it was hilarious because she's supposed to be such a brilliant matchmaker! I liked Emma, she was flawed, and had some not very nice qualities like her snobbery for instance, but at the same time, she shows so much patience to her father when she's dealing with him, she's always cheerful and I think she means well. I think she just wants to make people happy by finding them their perfect other half she just doesn't always get it right or go about it the right way, but I don't think she genuinely means any harm. Besides she changes over the course of the book and you can see it at the end with the Martins and how her opinion has changed. I think what endeared her to me was how she kept digging herself a hole in some situations and making things worse, like with Harriet!

It has to be said, Mrs Elton was such a cow, and her husband wasn't much better like way to be bitter dude. Mrs Elton was so genuinely vile though! As usual Austen gives us a great many characters, each intriguing and having a very strong personality. There's a lot of mystery in this book, like what is Frank Churchill up to with Emma? What is he hiding? What's going on with him and Jane? You can see which characters are clearly up to something but it's trying to work out what, I must admit I was surprised and hadn't been expecting some of the reveals!

I should also mention the setting of this book because WHEEY SURREY! Some of you might recall me sharing photos from the top of a hill, and the guy buried upside down on it? That would be Box Hill which is mentioned a lot in this book, it's about a half hour 45 minute drive away from me and we go up there for dinner sometimes so I could so easily picture the hill at the time of the book and the events that happen on it! They also mention Kingston as a lot which is my hometown and technically classed as London rather than Surrey, but I enjoyed seeing a lot of places that are well known to me in the book, described as they must have been at the time!

Will It Stay A Classic

I think it will, I think all Austen books will because she's such an icon in literature. Each of her books has something different to the others about it, a different kind of romance and memorable characters and each has inspired many contemporary romance books. With Emma in particular, I think once you read it once, you want to read it again to see what you missed and to read it knowing what's going to happen or rather what's really going on, so you'll read it again and again and recommend it to others.

Who I'd Recommend It To

I would recommend this to romance lovers everywhere! Like I said, I feel like Austen's books are the originals and a lot of contemporary romances take aspects from her books and change them around or use them with other things, so I feel like reading Austen's books are a must. The language, the time period, the romance it all creates a great book. I'd also recommend it to wannabe classics readers because while the language takes some getting used to, I think Austen's books are a good classic to start with as there's romance, and Austen's wit makes for some humorous scenes.

My Editions

Hmmm, I don't actually have that many editions of Emma, which is a first for me!
I have the Penguin English Library Edition which is the one pictured!
Andddd the Penguin Clothbound Edition
Aaaaaand the Word Cloud Classic edition!
There's a couple of other editions of it that I actually need for my collection, thinking about it!

March Wrap Up

It's wrap up time!
I did quite well on the reading this month, but then I guess I'm cheating a bit so far because the graphic novels and the manga don't take long to read! I can't picture the graphic novels because I had to take them back to the library! So thanks to those and manga, I'm doing really well with my reading challenge on GoodReads as well as in general! I mean...check out my read stack! Anyway, let's get on with it....

These are pretty much all the teen/ya books I read this month! Except for some that I couldn't find for the photo, seriously I put books down and then can't find them!

This was absolutely brilliant and completely blew me away, I was expecting good things from the author but I completely fell in love with this book it had WW2 vibes despite not being about WW2, and was original and kept me on my toes!

Need I say more about this? Re-reading this showed me how much was missing from the film that I'd forgotten about, and it's still definitely my favourite book!

Gwenda Bond is doing awesome things with this, the characterisation was perfect, Lois is a hero you can root for, she does what's right no matter what. Clark was introduced in a brilliant way as well, and I was expecting that! There's action and humour and it's a book that you just devour!

Sequel to The Fire Sermon and one of my most anticipated sequels of the year! It took what we know about the world of the book and expanded on it and added tonnes more intrigue to the story. I'm so ridiculously excited to see what will happen next considering all the revelations that completely blew my mind!

This was everything I was hoping for and more, it's on level with The Infernal Devices which might just be my favourite more than Mortal Instruments...shhhh! I can't even, I mean, I'm in love with the characters and the romance and just everything with this book!

The best Snow White retelling I've ever read, not going to lie! Original, fun, humorous and full of action and romance I devoured this in a couple of hours. We also saw some of the world that's going to feature in the other books, they're all standalone but linked through the world and after reading this, I'm ridiculously excited to see what the author is going to do with the other classic fairy tales!

A completely brilliant novella bind up that adds so much to the Virals series, giving us a scene we've always wanted, opportunities to learn more about the characters and their thoughts and feelings, and a brand new novella that nicely wraps up the series...but still kind of leaving it a little bit open! I'm desperate for more books, not going to lie!

More review books! These ones are all classics, plus a couple non-fiction books that where awesome!

I can't stop raving about this because they are truly cracking little editions of classics, cheap and easy to collect! They're great additions to your classics collection!

This gorgeous Alma edition was so easy to understand thanks to their notes on the text, which allowed me to not feel like a complete idiot when I was reading because anything I didn't understand had a handy little note! I also think this may be my favourite Austen..I mean I love Pride and Prejudice but this was so cute!

Thank you Alma to introducing me to another new favourite classic. I fell in love with this while reading it, I was wary because of how freaking huge it is, but I was so gripped once things got going! Trying to work out what the shady guys where up to, and knowing something bad was going to happen and like..mentally screaming at the characters....because actually screaming at fictional characters is frowned upon...

One of the best mythology books I've read and perfect if you don't want to spend ages slogging through hard to understand language to extract the information you want to know about.

Perfect for any Austen fans and the letters actually give you so much insight in to Austens life and what she was like as a person!

I actually recently watched all of the anime in a couple of days, and so I decided to check out the manga! I've not really read much manga, usually just whatever the library had, so Blue Exorcist has been my first additions to my library! Thank God for birthday money! I'm thinking I may or may not do a blog post on my manga haul that I've got with said birthday money, but I'm not sure...let me know if you're interested in me doing it!

So guys, that's my haul, all of the reviews are right here on my blog! What did you guys read this month?!

March Book Haul

Hey guys!
I've already shared my Birthday Book Haul with you all, so now it's time for the standard Book Haul!
I was very lucky this month, and I'm so grateful to the various publishers who where nice enough to let me review their books! I was also super lucky in that...I actually won something! I rarely ever win anything and here I won twice!

Books Bought:

Prudence is a book I've been meaning to get for a while because it's the first book in a  spin off series from The Parasol Protectorate series that I love! It's all steampunk and supernatural, and they're so much fun! So I'm excited to finally get to read this! God bless Waterstones stamp reward cards!

This is a sequel, and I still haven't actually read the first one but I needed to get a second book for the Waterstones thing and I thought...why not, then when I do read the first book I can get straight in to the second one! I'm actually planning on reading them soon, I swear!

Do I need to say anything? I totally pre-ordered this because I wanted the really awesome pre-order cards that the author was doing! I can't wait to read what happens next, A Darker Shade of Magic was one of my favourite books of 2015, and AGOS has been one of my most anticipated! I think I'm gonna try and get to it this month!

I actually still need to get this in hardcover because the hardcover is gorgeous, this is Waterstones fault again, because I had points and the paperback has a really cool demonology bit in the back and some of the drawings are kind of cute, not going to lie! This book is so much fun, and it's so original, I got to review it and it was such a fantastic read!

I actually broke the book buying ban for this first because I freaking love Gena Showalter, and Book Depository had signed editions for sale and the chances of me ever meeting the author and getting her to sign a copy are really slim so I thought why not! I'm so intrigued by this as it's a different direction to her usual Teen!

Books Received:

I was sent five of these to review and I'm so grateful because these are fantastic little editions! There's not just the writings but there's information in the book about the author and the story as well as a quote page. I'm definitely going to have to collect these.

This is a fairy tale retelling, Snow White in particular and you all need to read this, especially if you love OUAT! It's original, the twists on the original tale are brilliant, it's funny, the romance is perfect and there's plenty of action and plot twists as well as fantastic characters! It's a genuine "can't put down" book!

The third book in a series by one of my favourite authors, I've literally just started it after re-reading the first two! I love all of Joss's books, and these ones are thrillers, there's a detective agency for teens, there's mystery and romance, and Joss writes perfect romance that brings the warm and fuzzies!

Another third book! This is a steampunk series that's full of brilliantly complex mysteries and plots, as well as a very Sherlock/Watson duo in the form of Newbury and Hobbes. I'm always surprised and kept on my toes and the writing is gorgeous!

In this we have Warlock Holmes who's a bit of a dimwit, lucky for him he has Dr Watson. This book has 6 Sherlock Holmes stories reimagined, and they sound completely awesome! I'm excited to review this!

Novella bind up alert! This is a bind up of three of the Virals novellas plus a brand new one set after the last Virals novel, and these novellas are pure perfection!

Exactly what it says, World Mythology, concisely written to give you the maximum information without having to spend pages and pages reading about it all. It's straight to the point and tells you exactly what you need to know!

A collection of quotes from her works and her personal letters to other family members and acquaintances. It's a fantastic collection of quotes about all different kinds of things.

The Alma Edition of an Austen classic, in this we have Anne who isn't treated too brilliantly by her family, and she ends up coming face to face with a lost love. Luckily the feelings are still there, there's just a couple of bumps in the road to get out the way!

Drawing master Walter winds up at the home of Laura and Marian after an eerie encounter with a woman in white. Falling for Laura would have been okay...if Laura wasn't engaged to be married to Percival who is as shady as they come. Percival has a friend, equally as shady, in the form of Count Fosco, and they're definitely up to no good!

Books Won:
I basically never get to do this category! But a miracle happened and I won a couple things!

I totally won a signed copy from Maximum Pop Books and I've been so excited for this book, it's one of my most anticipated and it sounds so awesome! Excited as I am to read this, I'm a bit wary because like...it's signed and I don't want to damage it!

I won this lovely edition from a lovely lady called Emma! I collect the Penguin English Library editions, and I'm going to be reading this for this months classics challenge! I'm excited to read another Austen, I've already read two and I'm working my through her entire works!

So that is my March Book Haul and I'm so ridiculously grateful! Let me know what you hauled in March, down below!

April TBR

It's Aaappprrriiilllll!
Which means it's time for a new TBR post! Normally I'd video this but I'm out of action on the videoing front for the time being so I'm doing a proper blog post instead!
My April TBR so far is just review books, my classic for the month and my Harry Potter book for the month! It shouldn't take me too long to read them to be honest, so I'll end up reading some other books off of my TBR but rather than picking those out now, I thought I'd just decide at the time!

Shaken is the third book in a series that I love by an author that I love, I'm so excited to read it that I'm gonna re-read the other two first, even though I don't really need to because they don't really carry on from each other! These books are seriously awesome you guys!

Review book number one! It's a romance all about a girl who's the brand new assistant for the fiancée of a bands lead singer. She doesn't particularly like the band and there's loads of backstage drama, it should be a fun read!

This was a surprise book post book, and it came with a totally cool map and I'm intrigued to start it! It's about a family who look after a river, and the main characters father ends up getting possessed by a spirit and our MC has to find the cure which is in the belly of a sea beast!

In this book we have our MC who's living in an orphanage, he's taken to meet his long lost aunt but is attacked on the way. Turns out there's monsters and an ancient order of Knights that he's connected to but they're a little bit on the shady side, it would seem!

I do love a fantasy, and I'm excited for this one! We have Ash who's a healer out for revenge and Jenna who's got a mysterious mark on the back of her neck and is being hunted down because of it. There's a series of murders throwing everything in to chaos and both Ash and Jenna don't really like the King all that much so I'm sensing a team up coming!

I love Malorie Blackman and it's been an age since I've read one of her books! Noughts and Crosses is the last one I read...well the last book in that series anyway! Othello in space. Yep. Sounds awesome right!? You have Olivia who's headed back to Earth with her twin after a mysterious virus wipes out their family and the crew. Then you have Nathan who's ship's attacked and who's one of the few survivors. The two meet, romance ensues, there's some murder and ya know....space!

Yep, I'm going for my third Austen book! Persuasion might actually be my favourite so we'll see where this ranks on my Austen scale! I'm reading this for the 2016 Classics Challenge and I'm going to be buddy reading it with Rebecca! From what I gather, our main character is a bit of a matchmaker and things don't go as planned!

After re-reading Goblet of Fire and realising quite how much is left out the film, I'm intrigued to compare this to the adaption! I'm really enjoying this HP re-read and I can't believe I haven't done it sooner! We have the reason I don't like the colour pink in this book....Umbridge. *shudder*

So that's my April TBR, and once I've read those I'm going to be grabbing stuff off my TBR but I thought I'd wait and see what mood I was in rather than picking now! I'm hoping to get a fair few read this month, my goal for the year is to clear my TBR, or at least...most of it! The reviews for the books that I am reviewing will be up on the blog in the coming weeks! I'm not sure whether I'll be doing a video for Emma or just doing a blog post, it depends on how I'm feeling!
Let me know what's on your April TBR down below!

Classics: Persuasion

Persuasion
Rating: 5/5

Persuasion narrates the emotional journey of its protagonist Anne Elliot, who chances upon Captain Wentworth, a suitor she was persuaded to reject seven years earlier, and whose reappearance causes her to reflect on her past decisions and contemplate her marital future.Vividly depicting the society holiday towns of Lyme Regis and Bath and infused with its author's trademark wit, Austen's last completed novel, set against the backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars, is an entertaining and enduring account of the dilemmas facing young women in the early nineteenth century.

How completely gorgeous is this edition!? I can't stop staring at it, so pretty! Anyway, I'm a relative newbie to Austen, I read Pride and Prejudice back in January for the 2016 Classics Challenge and I loved it, and I luckily got to review this edition of Persuasion as my next Austen! I think I may actually love Persuasion a teeny bit more than I love Pride and Prejudice! You have girl meets boy, both fall in love, girl persuaded by family and acquaintances to leave him because he's not "appropriate". They meet again years later, feelings are lingering. Boy is jealous of other boy showing interest in girl, feelings are realised and conversations are overheard and everything is okay in the end!

If you're reading that and thinking...this is familiar...then you're looking at the original template for a few contemporary romances, in one form or another. There's definitely a few elements well used in contemporary books, and I'm thinking this is the original basis! I found this book to be well paced, there was lots going on even when it wasn't anything to do with the romance courtesy of various other characters!

Austen's wit is present throughout the book, as are her beautiful and vivid descriptions of the various different locations. We spend a lot of time in Lyme Regis and Bath in this book, and it was nice to see the places through the eyes of an author who saw what the place looked like before all the modern houses and buildings popped up and ruined the aesthetic a little bit! Austen describes each location so well you get a feel for the place and an idea of what the place is like.

I particularly liked that this book has it's differences to P&P, there isn't tonnes of balls and lots of visiting other people. I mean there is visiting going on, but it's not the same as in P&P and I guess I had this kind of idea that each Austen book was similar to the others with characters and settings and what happens, but this book is very different. You still get to see the manners and etiquette of the time, don't get me wrong, but this book has a different feel to it, it felt more relaxed, we spent a lot of time with various family members and only occasionally a few other people socially, whereas P&P was a whirlwind of balls and visits. Or I think so anyway!

I liked getting to read about the navy at the time and how it worked and what things where like, it was nice to see another group of people to the usual gentlemen that don't really do much! I liked how the romance had already happened once, and they where rediscovering their feelings for each other, and it was a truly brilliant romance. Austen writes romance so well, she always gives you plenty of warm and fuzzies and has you smiling at the book and it's just perfect.

I have to mention the letter scene, because it was ADORABLE. I was squealing a little bit while I was reading it because it was so obvious he was listening in and then the letter, and then the casual "oops forgot my glove" move and it was such a perfect scene! Things where wrapped up so nicely in the book, and it was perfection I tell you!

Anne I completely loved, I felt for her so badly. She's not considered very important to her family, "Was nobody with either father or sister: her word had no weight; her convenience was always to give away- she was only Anne". She had Lady Russell, admittedly and I liked that she was at least like family to her. I loved watching Anne acquire her own group of friends who appreciate her, the Admiral and Mrs Croft, Captain Benwick and so on. She's quite different from Elizabeth, I feel, she's quieter and I related to her a lot more. She does so much for everyone, but hardly ever does anything for herself, and she's intelligent and just such a kind person!

I completely understood her anxiety at seeing Wentworth again, and her feelings on their situation. They'd gone from being so close to being seemingly nothing to each other, and then she has to see him again and it's awkward, and upsetting and then she's watching him spend all this time with Louisa and Henrietta. I felt for her so much and I was rooting for her the entire time!

Anne's family weren't that great. Her father was so vain, like seriously. SO vain. I've never read about a man quite like him before, he only cares about how he looks and who he knows! He doesn't seem to much care about his daughters either, except for Elizabeth! He cares about looks so much it's ridiculous, and he is so stuck up. Then you have Elizabeth, she was a bit of a cow if I'm honest. Just as stuck up as her father, and repeatedly says Anne is nothing to her and prefers the company of her friend Mrs. Clay who's totally gunning to be her new stepmother and she doesn't realise! Elizabeth is just nasty.

Mary is Anne's younger sister, and I will admit...I liked her more than Elizabeth. She's a bit over dramatic, and she demands Anne looks after her when she's sick and spends time with her but at the same time...at least Mary wants to spend time with Anne! She's not a perfect character, don't get me wrong, but she's the best family member Anne has I think, even if Anne does end up doing a lot for her. Her husband is incredibly nice to Anne as well, making sure Mary isn't taking advantage of her, as is the rest of the Musgroves. Mary really wasn't that bad, she wrote to Anne, spent time with her, and was the nicest family member to Anne!

Lady Russell gets a mention too, she's much kinder to Anne than her own family is, even if she did rather mess things up for her with Wentworth in the first place, she meant well. Sort of. She was more vexed about Elizabeth's friend Mrs Clay being in favour more than Anne, more than Anne herself was. I felt like she was at least looking out for Anne. Then in the end she just wanted Anne to be happy.

The edition itself is a brilliant one! Not only does it have a beautiful cover, but it's an affordable price for those of you who like to collect classics! This edition had one thing that my edition of Pride and Prejudice was lacking....notes. As you're reading Persuasion, there's a few phrases, terms or publications and so on, marked and with a corresponding note to explain what it means or what it is and gives you some context and understanding of the book! This certainly made it easier for me to understand!

This edition also contains some photos at the front, portraits of Austen and some family members and photos of the places she has lived or visited. I loved seeing where she would have written her books, or where she may have drawn inspiration from! It was a great visual to have. Not to mention the back of the book has over 20 pages or so of pure information on Jane Austen. It has information on every single aspect of her life such as, education, real life romances, her illness and so on, as well as information on her and her writing. I've never seen so much information on her gathered all in one place, and the fact you can read it after reading the book is brilliant. Any questions and brief wonders you may have had about the author while reading are most likely answered in these notes!

Persuasion is, I think, by far my favourite Austen book so far! I don't like P&P any less though! Written with as much wit as Austen puts in to all her books, with vivid descriptions and plenty of scenes to squeal at, it's a perfect romance read! This Alma Classics edition also goes above and beyond and helps you to understand the book and the author even more, and certainly made reading the book easier!

2016 Classics Challenge: January

Hey guys!
The month is nearly over, I've read my classic for the month and it's time to tell you guys aaaalll about it! I wasn't quite sure how to do this, but I'm thinking I'll do it this way, I'll answer the questions here, and then in my videos I'll tell you what I thought of the book! That way the video's aren't really long and there's less of me babbling!
This month's video had some technical difficulties, so there's no actual sign off because I didn't realise it hadn't gotten that bit, so sorry  guys! It's not me being rude!

ANYWAY, let's get started!

So this month I picked Pride and Prejudice to read, in case it's not already obvious or known! I actually had a lot to say about it and had a fair few notes, but that's all in the video that I'll link down below!

1. When did I discover this classic?

I've been trying to think back to the exact point when I discovered this classic but I really am struggling! We never did any Austen books in school it was Jane Eyre and a lot of Shakespeare with some Of Mice and Men thrown in! I think around about some time when I was in Secondary School, is the answer! It's kind of hard not to discover Pride and Prejudice to be honest with all the adaptions of it floating about and all the merchandise to go with it, especially on Tumblr! I already knew about it but Tumblr just made me more and more interested in it!

2. Why I chose to read it.

Easy. Everyone raves about it and it's one of the classics that I consider to be one of the big, main classics along with Wuthering Heights and Little Women and so on. Not to mention the bits of the film that I had seen intrigued me and I had a feeling I'd like the book because ya know...romance. It's also technically historical these days as well! I've been wanting to read it for ages to be honest, I've not read that many Classics on my own just Dracula and Secret Garden and a couple of others, and seeing as P&P is a main classic, I'm kind of ashamed I haven't read it! I also have loads of different editions of it, because I can't resist pretty books, and I collect certain editions and my logic is that ya know...I'm gonna read it eventually, and I know I'm going to love it so why not?!

3.  What makes it a classic?

I'm probably the last person who should be saying what makes a classic a classic seeing as I haven't read any! I mean, the fact people are still reading it and loving it makes it a classic I guess? Although I think the correct answer is the language of the book, and the romance. Also the setting, a lot of readers love this particular period of time, and it's a romance set in that time. It's a good romance and it's a great glimpse in to the time period and what things where like. I really suck at answering these questions!

4. Will it stay a classic?

I can't really say, things are always changing. I would think that it would because people are still just as interested in it whether it's in book form or film form. I've seen a lot of teenagers on Tumblr who love the book as well so it's not just older generations loving the book either! I think all the film adaptions that are out there will also help it to stay a classic, because you know...a lot of the time people are more likely to watch a book adaption, and a lot of the time someone might watch an adaption and then go and read the book! Not that like..just watching the adaption is a bad thing, it's also keeping P&P as a classic! I think people will always be interested in the time period, it's one that people romanticise a lot and it being a book written at the time, it's authentic in it's language. I think there's something about the language and the etiquette of the time and how things where that interest people, and that people enjoy.

I'm going in to essay territory here! But I also think that the romance is one that can stand the test of time, not to mention the characters! Elizabeth and Darcy are classic characters and you often find characters in modern day books that have aspects of them, or are very, very like them! Everyone loves a romance though, let's be honest!

5. Who would I recommend it to?

For a start, I'd recommend it to people who read a lot, like nothing against people that don't read all that much, but the writing and the language is such that I don't think a casual reader would get on with it, or they would struggle. BUT then on the flip side....it might get a casual reader reading more. So there's that. I'd definitely recommend it to Teens and up, because I think more teens should read the classics. I mean....I regret never picking up all that many classics. I didn't read classics when I was a teen, Dracula and stuff I read when I was younger, I actually got given a copy of Anne of Green Gables by a teacher in primary. But when you're at school reading classics is always a chore a lot of the time, I was lucky because I actually liked Jane Eyre and Of Mice and Men, but being forced to read the set ones at school can put people off, so I think teens should just pick a classic they like the sound of and give it a go! It's great for the vocabulary as well! This sounds really preachy, my bad!

So there you have it! I kinda feel like I'm doing an English Essay and I such at academic things like that so it's rambly and probably all wrong but I tried! I'll do better for February I promise!

Speaking of February....my February classic is going to be *drum roll* Wuthering Heights!
I'm assuming most people guessed seeing as it was my second choice for January, I was hoping to actually read Sense and Sensibility in January because I fancied it after seeing some of the film, but I didn't have time! I have this feeling like I'm going to end up binge reading classics at some point! But yes....Feb's book is Wuthering Heights! No idea what to read for March (which is my birthday month yaaaay!) so any suggestions are welcome! I'll probably do a Twitter people because I suck at being decisive!

Let me know what your classic for the month was as well hitting me with your suggestions! Check out what I thought of the book in the video below!
