100 Years Quest provides us with another excellent volume in the series and there's action from the start which is to be expected at this point. What got me excited about this particular volume, however, was the plot twist that happens pretty early on in the volume....a dragon shaped plot twist to be precise! I'm really enjoying the dragon element in this series and loving the focus on them, as much as I love the magic element, and if you've read the main series then you're in for a surprise that will have your jaw dropping! Even I was reading it like...whaaaaaat!? At which point it's time to try to get over the surprise and settle in properly for the rest of the volume because this series is getting so good! 

While I was excited and enjoying this new series, I was also wondering what new things could be brought in to keep it going and keep it fresh, aside from the dragons! (Speaking of, we're already introduced to a second one in this volume!) Then the plot twist happened and I was like 'aaaah I see' and any slight skepticism I might have had has now vanished and I'm even more excited to see where this is going to go now. 

There's a nice, epic battle to enjoy and the high of completing a mission but there's also ominous hints scattered here and there; Natsu and his behaviour, the guild master for Diabolos and then what's happening back at the Fairy Tail Guild. There's even a glimpse of what's to come with a quick intro to the dragons that got me so excited! While I did find the doppelgängers funny, I was also a bit like...okay gimme the dragons again! I feel like this volume really takes a turn for the fanfic with the doppelgängers and Grey's in particular! Nalu and Gruvia shippers are going to have plenty to screech over too. 

While we have some fun and relax along with the characters, things kick off once again towards the end of the volume both with another guild member popping up and then with the next dragon already being introduced which leaves you excited for the next volume and what's to come. 

If you've been on the fence about this series, this is the volume that's going to cement your interest!

It's baaaaaackk! I was so sad when Fairy Tail ended, but it's not been over for long and we've already got a sequel, and an exciting one at that! I got shivers at the very first page of this volume with the whole "the first guild is born" page, I was immediately like "okay, I need to know more right now" and this volume quickly delivers for us. 

While we initially start off at the Guild, meeting a new Fairy Tail member by the name of Touka, who's kind of like Juvia...but with Natsu, we're soon off with Team Natsu on the 100 Years Quest that's never before been completed..hence 100 Years Quest. What I loved about this volume, aside from being back with the characters we know and love, was that it allows us to explore more of the world of Fairy Tail as we journey to a new continent. Plus we get to visit the first ever wizard's guild Magia Dragon and learn a little about it. I have to say...I'm in love with their guild hall...it's an actual castle, and I want it! The Guild Master is also pretty...interesting, and introduces us to a new type of dragon slayer magic, which I'm curious about. 

I've been curious about this 100 Years Quest ever since it was first mentioned, so I couldn't wait to see what it was all about and it definitely took me by surprise, but has left me feeling really excited. It's taking us to new territory, we've got an entire new continent to explore and different towns and cities, we're going to be discovering new types of magic, meeting new characters both good and bad as well as Guilds, and we're going to be getting to see more dragons and dragon slayer magic too! 

Alongside all of that, we're getting little interludes back to Magnolia, so we do get to see all of the others, and thanks to Jellal we get to check in with some of our other favourites as well! Juvia and Touka bicker a lot and I kind of can't wait for Natsu to return because I feel like it's going to be hilarious! But Touka seems a bit...shady and Gajeel seems quite suspicious after she mentions a certain person. So while Team Natsu are off on their quest, Gajeel turns detective with Juvia soon helping him, and they start to dig in to Touka and her background. I do really love it when Juvia and Gajeel work together or when we get to see them interact with each other and see their friendship as we don't get it often. However, it also seems like Jellal is on the hunt for Touka as well, so we've got the mystery of Touka and what the deal is with her, and the mystery presented by the 100 Years Quest. 

This volume throws us back in to the world of Fairy Tail with all the humour and chaos that we know and love. It also starts things moving quickly and provides plenty of intriguing hints as to what's to come including a reunion for Lucy that I'm personally really hopeful and excited about! Not to mention the Quest itself which is better than I could have imagined. There's new creatures and places to see, new characters to meet and I laughed plenty of times making my way through this volume...as well as feeling quite at home, it has to be said. 

There's plenty of twists and turns, things have been introduced to us and set up nicely within the first volume, giving us plenty to look forward to from the story in the coming volumes. I have to say, this was everything I was hoping for and more, and I feel like it's going back to the more carefree, fun Fairy Tail, with more adventure/quest vibes to it because obviously towards the end of Fairy Tail things got very tense and serious.

Hot-headed wizard Laxus Dreyar is always on the lookout for the next challenge! Before long, the guild's master Ichiya is kidnapped, and it's up to Laxus to save the day. However, when faced with a battle with a rival guild's female mages, Laxus learns a tough lesson... On the next mission, Laxus and his gang go up against an ancient relic of fearsome magic--one that will put their bonds of friendship to the test! 

I have been waiting for this volume for forever! I love this spinoff series, each one has been so brilliant and give us a really nice look in to the characters each volume focuses on! Laxus is just so hilarious to me, he's so grouchy and surly and I've been looking forward to him getting the spotlight for a bit! Plus the rest of the Raijinshu. 

Freed is definitely my favourite out of the three, don't get me wrong I love Bickslow and Evergreen but Freed cracks me up. He's such a Laxus fanboy. Not only do we get to see more of the three of them in this volume, but we get to see more of the Blue Pegasus crew too and I enjoyed getting to see more of their personalities and the dynamics between them. Plus we get to discover a new Guild as well!

This volume is hilarious, genuinely, but poor old Laxus has to figure some things out about himself, which I thought tied in really nicely with the main series. There's a lot going on this volume, we have two different storylines, both of which are given a nice amount of detail and are fleshed out really well, plus they're nicely paced. 

We get plenty of action, we get to see loads of all four characters and we even get to see a flashback to how the Raijinshu formed! Overall it's an entertaining and action packed volume, that slots in nicely with the main story!

When Wendy and Carla hear a rumor of a harp that can call dragons, they go on an adventure to see for themselves! There they meet little Emily, who is convinced that Wendy is a real angel. Wendy plays along until Emily decides that angels can grant wishes! Soon, a darker mystery unravels, and a religious cult threatens the girls' lives. The pressure is on for Wendy to solve these mysteries! 

The final volume of Blue Mistral is here! Everything Fairy Tail related is wrapping up and it kinda makes me sad! The opening chapter of this final volume is cute and heart warming, and we even get to see Mink again! You may or may not remember him from the previous volume. I'd ship it but...he's not in the main series. 

Honestly, this volume starts out all cute and adorable and then it gets pretty intense as Wendy is poisoned trying to protect Emily....the girl with the harp who mistakes her for an angel. 

I really liked the mystery element and there's a nice amount of action too. Plus we get to see a new Celestial Spirit and Natsu pops up as well! I do love it when he pops up in this series, it's always fun to see how he gets portrayed in spin offs! 

While being aimed at a slightly younger audience, this is still a fun little spin off, and it's easy to read. Wendy really comes in to her own in this one, and it was nice to see more of a focus on her as she is the youngest and has a lot of growing up to do and you see her doing some of that in this series. I feel like it carried on well and connected back to the main series well too, and of course, it all came to a satisfying end!

17-year-old Lucy is an attractive mage-in-training who wants to join a magician's guild so that she can become a full-fledged magician. The guild she dreams about joining is the most famous in the world and it is known as the Fairy Tail. One day she meets Natsu, a boy raised by a Dragon who mysteriously left him when he was young. Natsu has devoted his life to finding his Dragon father. When Natsu helps Lucy out of a tricky situation, she discovers that he is a member of the Fairy Tail magician's guild and the heroes' adventure together begins.

This is it you guys, this is the final freaking volume of Fairy Tail. I so wasn't ready for it, I got back from my vacation and it was sitting in the pile of post I had, and I just opened it and stared at it for a good few minutes because you know...so not ready! The cover hit me in the feels and made me come over all nostalgic and the chapter art gave me so much nostalgia too! 

After mentally preparing myself for one of my favourite series ever coming to an end, I finally started to read it and oh my God. Mavis hit me in the feels right from the start and there's a blissful moment when all seems well....before it all comes crashing down. Like I was thinking 'okay, but this is all kind of convenient' and it was like I could hear Mashima's evil laughter before he was like "SURPRISE B****". 

This volume, it's the dragon slayers time to shine, and there's so much action packed in to this volume! But not just the slayers, everyone gets to have their moment in the spotlight, and their moment to be a badass too! 

Everything ends happily, and for those that ship certain characters....while some things could be seen to be a bit ambiguous, there are some ships that are quite clearly sailing....finally. I loved getting a glimpse in to the characters lives since the final battle and it really rounded everything out and wrapped it all up and made me so emotional. It's really the perfect blend of action, and heartwarming moments...something to be expected from Fairy Tail. 

There's plenty of nostalgia to be had thanks to Lucy and I totally got a bit choked up reading this final volume, I'm not going to lie. I don't think I'll ever be ready for this to be over, like I've still got the anime and the spin off series but still! I'm just sad there won't be any new Fairy Tail adventures but I have to say...the series has come to a truly fitting end, I loved the final couple of pages so much!

The magical adventures of the Fairy Tail guild continue! 

There's literally no other synopsis floating around which is probably just as well because this is the penultimate volume and things are tense and I'm waiting to see how things are going to end, and I'm so on edge while reading because ONE VOLUME LEFT! 

Jellal really gets his badass on in this volume, and I was cheering for him because FINALLY. Blue Pegasus face off with Acnologia as they show up to help out Wendy and Erza, and there's an interesting plot twist regarding Anna, you might remember her! We go back in to the past and finally see what went down when Lucy's mother opened the gate and Natsu and co arrived! Meanwhile Gray and Lucy are trying to save Natsu who's facing off with Zeref. That's as much of a synopsis as I can give you without too many spoilers!

As the series is starting to wrap up we're getting more and more blanks filled in and questions answered and it's exciting but also kind of sad because it's nearly all over! This volume genuinely made me feel bad for every single time I've taken the piss out of Ichiya, I'm not going to lie. 

Volume 62 is fast paced, and there's a lot of action and a lot going on as two battles take place simultaneously...and kind of a third! The volume builds up to a crescendo pretty fast and as we end the volume we're left with some potentially devastating consequences. Things are sombre and serious, and there's plenty of tension to go with the immense sense of danger. This volume genuinely hit me right in the feels. All the pieces have finally come together, we know how everything happened and what went down and we get an epically huge battle to win. *sobs for eternity* The chapter drawings had me all nostalgic too, I'm so not ready for this to end!

Come see what a “day in the life” of the strongest guild in Fiore is like in nine wacky short stories! 

If you watch the anime, these stories and chapters will be preeetttyyyy familiar as they're all OVA or omake episodes! Obviously the actual episodes are longer and have additional scenes but still. This first volume was a brilliant collection of humour and heartwarming tales. There's also a lot of fan service, just warning you all. 

Remember how Makarov told the two GMG teams that whichever one won, could get the other team to do whatever they wanted for a day? Well we get to see some resolution to that and it's hilariously ridiculous. We get to learn some more about certain characters like Cana and Bisca which was nice as they don't get much page time in the main series. Welcome Home Frosch is quite possibly one of my favourite episodes and so you know...it was my favourite chapter of this volume! It was nice to spend some time with the Sabertooth members and it was a cute story. Then we have Fairy Tail of the Dead Meeeeeeeen, a hilarious horror comedy chapter, and Natsu faces off with Mavis too, aaaandd we get a nice dose of Christmas! 

Some shippers will be very happy with these stories, especially if you ship Gruvia, Nalu and Jerza...just saying! There's also some fun background on each of the short stories that was interesting to read and gave more insight in to each story and how it came about and how it fit in and so on. The art as usual is detailed when it comes to buildings and backgrounds, and obviously...it's the characters as we know and love them!

Halloween Anime & Manga Recommendations

Hey guuyyss, Happy Autumn! And you know...Merry (early) Halloween!

So, I usually do a couple of recommendation blog posts for Halloween, I usually do books, but considering I've been posting about anime a lot more over on my Twitter and here on my blog, I thought I'd change things up this year and recommend some awesome anime shows for you watch in October! But that's not all, I'm going to be recommending you some manga too! I was going to do two separate posts but a lot of the manga I was going to rec have anime shows so I figured it'd be easier to combine the two! 

Don't worry, none of them are super scary, I pinky promise! 

Yokai Apartment Life (Anime)

For those of you who like your ghosts and ghouls cute, and not at all nightmare inducing then this is the show for you! It's on Crunchyroll and is only available subbed right now, but it's second cour is starting just this month yaaaay! Our MC Inaba is supposed to move in to his brand new apartment all ready for the new school year but certain events happen and he has to move in to the Yokai Apartments, the only other accommodation he can afford. Ghosts, ghouls, spirits and more all live there and Inaba's about to get to know them reaaaaalllly well....

Servamp (Anime/Manga)

If you like your vampires cute with the ability to turn in to even cuter animals then check out Servamp! It's available dubbed, and you can read it as a manga too! Servamps are servant vampires, and Mahiru's newly rescued, totally adorable cat Kuro, turns out to be the Servamp known as Sleepy Ash. Also known as Sloth. He's one of the seven deadly Servamps and it turns out they have an eighth sibling who's out to start a war... 

D. Gray Man (Anime/Manga)

Exorcists abound in this nicely creepy anime! The comedy helps keep it light so it's creepy without being terrifying. It's also totally Halloween appropriate! You can read it as a manga or watch it as an anime! It's dubbed and totally bingeable. Allen Walker is sent to the Black Order, an organisation or Exorcists who fight the Akuma and the one who creates them, The Millennium Earl. Allen's all set to become an official Exorcist, just in time for the Order to have a showdown with the Earl who's latest plan will just destroy the world. No big deal. 

Seraph of the End (Anime/Manga)

More vampires, because Halloween! These ones aren't as cute as the Servamp ones, but they're not so bad to look at either! Watch it or read it, it's perfect for your Halloween vampire needs. Set in a dystopian wold where a virus has wiped out most people over the age of 13, and vampires emerged from the darkness to take over. Yuu and his friends from the orphanage are treated as livestock for the vampires, and Yuu dreams of killing them all. So it's just as well he manages to escape the vampires, and runs straight in to the waiting arms of the Imperial Demon Army...who's entire purpose is to wipe out the vampires and take back the world for mankind. 

Blue Exorcist (Anime/Manga)

Another entry that you can read or watch! The anime has two seasons the first is dubbed, as is the movie, and the second season is subbed on Crunchyroll or dubbed on Hulu! Demons, Exorcists....I love watching this at Halloween I'm not going to lie! Rin's an ordinary guy...until he's ambushed one day by demons and he discovers that he's the son of Satan and his dad wants him to come back and help run the family business. Rin's not quite feeling that plan, especially after tragedy strikes, and he decides to enter True Cross Academy in order to train to become an Exorcist alongside his twin brother Yukio...

Akame Ga Kill! (Anime/Manga)

This anime/manga series is full of blood, death and despair. Literally everyone dies, so don't get your hopes up! The manga is a couple of volumes away from being completed so the anime has it's own ending and veers slightly from the manga as far as I can tell. You can also read the Akame Ga Kill Zero manga, the prequel which is actually more bloody and graphic than the main series. The series follows Night Raid, the group of covert assassin's belonging to the Revolutionary Army, who's sole purpose is to overthrow the Minister who's controlling the young Emperor and making things pretty crappy for everyone. Tatsumi joins the merry band of killers who happen to have interesting special skills, as they face off against the Empire in this blood soaked series.

Black Clover (Anime/Manga)

Black Clover's a manga series that has literally just started airing it's anime adaption! It's one of the magical entries on this list! Not scary as far as I'm aware, it features two boys who've been friends since they where children who are both determined to become Emperor Magus. However one is a genius with magic and the other...not so much. When the time comes to receive their Grimoires one gets a special one while the other....again, not so much. However, the truth about his power is soon revealed....

Fairy Tail (Anime/Manga)

Okay so you guys probably knew this was coming because this is one of my favourite series ever! The manga is just coming to an end, and word on the street is the final story arc is going to be getting an anime adaption! I'm still waiting for the new movie to be available to watch though! Fairy Tail is the lightest of the light. It makes the Halloween list on the grounds of magic. Aaalll the magic! There's fights, fun and general awesomeness. Fairy Tail follows notorious mage guild...Fairy Tail, obviously as they venture through their magical world saving the day and taking out the bad guys, foiling nefarious plots left, right and centre. Personally my favourite arc is the Grand Magic Games because of all the different magic and badass fight scenes. From around then, it gets a little bit darker too! There's like...6 or 7 season to watch plus one movie...I'm not sure when the newest movie is available! 

Soul Eater (Anime/Manga)

Okaaaay I haven't actually watched or read this series yet, but I've been reliably informed that it's brilliant and totally good for Halloween! It is on my watch list, but I haven't gotten around to it just yet! I'm hoping I'll have time this month! Set in Death City, the home of the famous Death Weapon Meister Academy headed by Lord Death himself, a Shinigami. It's mission is to raise Death Scythes for the Shinigami to wield against the evils of the world. 

Tokyo Ghoul (Anime/Manga)

Another that I haven't personally read/watched, but it's been on my watch list forever. It's dark and gritty and plenty bloody as far as I'm aware, and is a great Halloween watch...or read. Up to you! It's pretty much described as a horror manga so...it fits! Tokyo has become a cruel and merciless city, a place where vicious creatures called Ghouls exist alongside humans. The citizens live in constant fear of these creatures and their thirst for human flesh. Unfortunately they can pose as humans and blend in with society all too well. 

Deadman Wonderland (Anime/Manga)

Fancy an action and horror anime/manga this Halloween? Deadman Wonderland is worth checking out! Ganta and his class are heading out on a field trip to Deadman Wonderland, a prison amusement park where the inmates perform dangerous acts for the onlookers amusement. But things go south pretty quickly for Ganta when his entire class is massacred by a man in red and he's framed for it. He's sentenced to death and gets to spend some quality time in the place he was supposed to just be visiting. And what's more...the prison likes to play games. 

Ghost Diary (Manga)

So, I read this and reviewed it for Seven Seas because it sounded intriguing, and I do love a bit of Supernatural. This was actually way darker than I was expecting though, and way creepier and it was pretty bloody brilliant! 
Sukami is born in to an exorcist family and his older sister is an expert, even putting together a notebook detailing how to handle each of the monsters she's come across. One day Sukami and his friends in the Occult Club go to investigate a supposedly cursed shrine...but he ends up needing to be rescued by his sister. Shortly after, she goes missing, presumed to be dead, leaving her brother with nothing but her notebook. Sukami remains in the club, and remains dedicated to searching for his sister as he grows up. Then finally, his search starts to make some progress....





The Case Study of Vanitas (Manga)

Right folks, this is one of my favourite manga series and you should all check it out because it's brilliant! It's by the same creator as Pandora's Heart and the art is stunning. Seriously. The characters are brilliant, the world is interesting, and the art is absolutely gorgeous, I'm loving it! It's also perfect for Halloween... 

Once upon a time there lived a vampire known as Vanitas, he was hated by his own kind for being born under a blue full moon, as most arise on the night of a crimson one. Alone and afraid he creates the 'Book of Vanitas' a cursed grimoire that would one day take his vengeance on all vampires. Or so the story goes.

Paris. 19th Century. We follow Noé, travelling to find the Book of Vanitas. Luckily for him a vampire attack leads to him meeting Vanitas, a doctor who specialises in vampires and turns out to be a normal human. He's inherited not only the name but the book and uses the latter to heal his patients. But behind the facade is something sinister....

Twin Star Exorcists (Manga/Anime)

Okay, I've read the manga but I've not watched the anime, it's available subbed and last I heard it was being dubbed, but I'm fairly sure it's going to veer away from the manga judging by how many episodes it has! There's a tonne of fighting, demons and some intriguing plot points. It's pretty light, don't worry! 
Rokuro is from a family of exorcists, but he'd rather be a soccer player, or anything but an exorcist. When Benio arrives, he's forced to own up to his own potential as she gets his back right up and ignites the competitive spirit in him. Their rivalry takes a twist however, when it's revealed they're the Twin Star Exorcists...

Yokai Rental Shop (Manga)

This is on my list to buy as soon as it's out, and it's going to be out just in time for Halloween! Seeing as this is the first volume and I'm waiting for its release, I can't say much about it other than it sounds interesting, and the art looks pretty good! So it should be a fun Halloween read! 

Hiiragi is lonely, so it's quite the stroke of luck when he discovers he has a long lost half-brother, and he decides to meet the man. Unfortunately he's in for a bit of a shock. His brother is the proprietor of a pet shop...with a twist. The pet shop is a front for supernatural rentals. Customers in the know can rent out Yokai to perform supernatural deeds. But there is a catch...they have to forge a contract written in blood....






Aaaannndd in case you prefer lighter anime or manga for Halloween, and Fairy Tail isn't enough here's a couple of humorous and not at all scary in any way shows you can watch, or read if you prefer the manga. They're kinda Halloween-ish if you squint, featuring the demons and so on...but being a lot lighter and funnier than anything else on this list, and not really creepy or too dark. 

Beasts of Abigaile (Manga)

So this is one of the newer manga that's just come out, and I haven't had a chance to read it yet but it's a supernatural series, with some action and romance and will be perfect for anyone who wants to read something kind of in the spirit of Halloween without it being overly Halloween-y...if that makes sense! 

Nina has arrived in the beautiful country of Ruberia, populated by charming citizens and featuring some lush scenery. It's like a fairy tale...until she gets bitten by a young man with wolf ears. Nina promptly finds herself growing a set of her own furry ears and is whisked away to the prison of Abigaile where all of her kind are sent...







Devils and Realist (Anime/Manga)

The anime's on Crunchyroll if you're in the mood for watching rather than reading! It's only available subbed though! So, this is super light. There's demons...devils whatever you want to call them, and there's some occult rituals courtesy of William's little friend but it's not scary at all. There's one episode that could be classed as "mildly creepy", there's a lot of humour in this series! 
William Twining is from an aristocratic family, and with his high intelligence he's certainly going places! Unfortunately for him, his Uncle's business has failed, losing the family fortune. Needing to pay for his tuition, William returns home to search for anything of value that's worth some cash. It's not long before he stumbles across a hidden room created by an ancestor, and the room's prime feature is a magic circle. Luck just isn't with William and he accidentally summons a devil..specifically Dantalion. Turns out William is a descendant of Solomon and it's his job to choose the new acting ruler of the demon world. Shame then, that William is a staunch realist and doesn't believe in devils and demons. 

The Devil is a Part-Timer (Anime/Manga)

This one is pretty much solidly a comedy, and both the anime and manga are freaking hilarious. If you want a laugh this Halloween, while still being able to call it a "Halloween" appropriate watch/read..then this is for you. 
The Demon Lord Satan got a bit too cocky and tried to conquer the land of Ente Isla with his vast demon armies. The Hero Emilia leaps to defend her fellow mortals and Satan finds himself retreating through the first portal he can find along with his loyal general Alciel. The pair find themselves stranded in modern day Tokyo, and vow to return and conquer Ente Isla once they've figured out how to get back. Powerless in a world free from magic, Satan finds himself posing as a human and having to get a job....at MgRonalds. He soon finds himself determined to climb the corporate ladder, and then...ruler of Earth. And one day he might even be able to afford a TV.

Manga: Fairy Tail Vol 61

As the most powerful wizards of Fairy Tail face off against the remaining members of The Twelve, their hearts, relationships, and skills will be put to the test. The battle between Erza and Irene reaches an emotional conclusion, Gray shows how far he’s willing to go to save his dearest friends, and the love of a father sparks a shocking revelation from August. As Natsu and Zeref’s showdown approaches, both enemies and friends must ask themselves who their true family is! 

Two volumes left. There are literally two volumes left. I am so not ready. I'm really not. I'm going to be devastated when this is over. Absolutely devastated and finding out that after this there's only two volumes left has me taking my time reading this volume and trying not to rush through to the end...something I usually do with these volumes. I read them so fast it's ridiculous but I made a conscious effort to slow down and savour it more! 

With the final volume approaching things are moving quickly with the story, things are tense and edge of the seat and there's lots and lots of dramatic moments happening. Erza's battle concludes and hit me right in the feels, Magnolia is returned, it's revealed why Zeref needs Mavis's power, Natsu is back to normal *cheers* and ready to throw down with Zeref, and so much more. Gray faces off with Zeref alone and there was some serious ugly sobbing going down at Gray's plan and how everything went down and I was left kind of staring at the page like whaaaat just happened!? Did Mashima sensei really just do that!? 

One of my favourite scenes of this volume was a scene that perfectly mirrored an earlier scene in the series with Natsu and Gray. I genuinely can't even. This volume has seriously given me all the feels and knowing the end is nigh really doesn't help! I'm literally so full of tension whenever I pick up a Fairy Tail volume lately! 

We get to see Cana being a badass in this volume as she joins in with Gildarts tackling August. It was nice to see her get some more page time and use her abilities and so on. I also really love seeing her interact with Gildarts, it's funny and heartwarming and such an interesting relationship. I also spent a good chunk of time looking at August like "don't make Gildarts angry bro" but did he listen? Nope. So it kind of serves him right I guess. 

We get to meet Larcade in this volume, and I'd been spoiled about him a long time ago when the chapter originally came out in Japan and spoilers where all over YouTube and Twitter BUT I had completely misread his relationship with Natsu and Zeref. He wasn't at all what I was expecting and I actually felt really sorry for him. I'd quite liked to have seen some more of him and maybe seen him join the Guild and get given another chance. 

Another big moment of the volume is Natsu and Zeref having their showdown, something I've been looking forward to seeing for a while. Unfortunately it's interrupted by Acnologia making his appearance. I'm not going to lie to you guys. Acnologia is a complete and utter psycho. Seriously. I just want him taken out now. Like....come on guys. Time to do your Dragon Slayer duties and deal with him. Although I guess we owe him one for dealing with 'God Serena' for us?

As the volumes progress and we head towards the end, I'm getting hit in the feels more and more. This volume had me choked up more than once, and there was a really beautiful scene with Natsu and Gray. They have such an interesting relationship. They clearly care about each other but they always argue and fight, and in this volume...I think it's the first time Gray's called Natsu his friend. I could be wrong because it's been a while since I read the other volumes, but I think it is and the entire scene really choked me up. Then Natsu comes along like "you're my friend, right Gray?" and I just....*ugly sobbing*. It was so nice to see this genuine moment of friendship between the two of them and know that everything was okay between them after the earlier scenes. 

My one issue with this volume is that it's such a head**** about August and I was like whaaaaat!? and that was it. It would have been nice to see more of him and to see some more to that situation because SERIOUSLY?! 

Fairy Tail always puts me in a great mood, I always turn to it when I'm feeling down and needing a pick me up. It's one of those series where you wish you could join the Guild too, and I end up fist pumping and cheering so much when I read this series. It's obvious things are coming to a close as we're racing towards the climax of this final story arc. Things are getting more and more intense, there's more tension, more shock reveals and more intense battles. Not to mention heartwarming and heart breaking moments between characters. I was so in to this volume and so ready for what comes next and then...IT LEAVES YOU HANGING?! I'm so not cut out for this, I can't take the wait for the next volume after everything we learned in this one! 

One things for sure, this is one of my favourite series of all time and the final two volumes are going to be spectacular! 

May Book Haul

It's time for another hardcore book haul! 

I was given some book money this month and while my brain said "save it" my heart was like LOL eff that. So there we go. 

As usual, first up are the books I was lucky enough to receive from publishers, as well as a late birthday present that's completely awesome! I spend a lot of time feeling ridiculously grateful, not going to lie! 

Soldier by Julie Kagawa

The third book in a brilliant series full of dragons and action! It's been one of my long awaited releases for the year!

The War Against The Assholes by Sam Munson

The synopsis for this intrigued me, contemporary fantasy with magic and magicians and a war all in Manhattan! I love all things original and a little bit different, and this sounds like a load of fun on top of that. 

The Veil by Chloe Neill

I am a huge Chloe Neill fan, and I've been so excited for this new series! A post war New Orleans with a prison at its centre for the paranormal/supernatural creatures. 

This Savage Song by V.E Schwab

One of my most anticipated reads of the year and a start to a brand new series, or rather duology, by one of my favourite authors! Schwab always rights original books, with plenty of twists and brilliant writing to boot! 

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake 

I've got a lot of fantasy books on my shelves, I love fantasy more and more, the more of it I read. There's always originality to them, and magic and adventure and this one has plenty of it! Three queens, three different magical powers, and one crown. Oh and not everything is as it seems. 

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

BOOM. Perhaps THE most anticipated book of the year for me, and having read it? The BEST book I have read this year. I can't even! I have like three editions as well! 

Cruel Crown by Victoria Aveyard

This is one of my birthday presents from Rebecca! She knows me SO well and I've been so eager to get hold of this novella collection that goes with Red Queen! 

The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury

The second part of my birthday present from Rebecca and she's found me a completely awesome sounding fantasy, that I can't wait to get started on! 

Lois Lane: Double Down by Gwenda Bond

The sequel to Lois Lane Fallout, and I'm excited to see what's next for Lois! I completely loved how the author portrayed Lois in the first book, and what she's doing with the character! 

The Inquisition by Taran Matharu 

Another of my most anticipated reads of the year and the sequel to the Novice! These books are bursting at the seems with originality, and magic and fun, and they leave me wanting more! 

The Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan

The first book in a spin off from Percy Jackson and all about Apollo who's been cast out, turned mortal and chucked in to Camp Half Blood until he sorts himself out! 

The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye 

Another brilliant fantasy set in the Ottoman Empire, there's going to be magic, romance and a whole lot of drama, I think! I'm loving the sound of this book and what's in store, PLUS I'm on the blog tour for this book, and my date is the 27th, so keep an eye out! I'll have an article to go with the review! 

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

Fantasy! I love fantasy! I keep saying it but I really do, I love being able to get lost in all these different worlds, and this one sounds like an intriguing one. We have our main character, the daughter of a traitor and she's training to become an assassin....I got sent a quiz with this proof to find out what House I would be in and man has it intrigued me! 

Tales From The Kingdoms by Sarah Pinborough

A gorgeous book full of the fairy tales we know and love...but all twisty and dark! These truly blew me away and I loved seeing the spins the author put on them! 

Alice by Christina Henry 

Alice in Wonderland fans are going to love this! The author takes the classic tales Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass, and she puts a dark fantasy twist on them, creating a horrifying , disturbing and deeply compelling page turner. That's how I was sold it! Sounds awesome right? 

New Pompeii by Daniel Godfrey

This one sold me with the words "Jurassic Park and Gladiator collide" I'm not going to lie. It sounds like it's going to be a stunning debut, set in the near future and with a replica of Pompeii full of Romans...it sounds brilliant! 

Aaannndd here's the books I bought this month! So basically, with the money I earned and the money I was given as a gift combined...I had a lot and like I said, I really should have probably saved some but I have no self control and here we are. I figure most of you saw my book mail photo on twitter the other day so I didn't need to include EVERYTHING in the photo! Like every single volume of manga!

God bless Waterstones and their stamp cards! I needed these because of the completely stunning spines...obviously! 

Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine

Gorgeous hardcover....favourite author....end of story! It's also quite a bookish book! 

Half A War by Joe Abercrombie

The final book in a trilogy that I am loving, the hardcover is completely gorgeous! The endpapers are stunning!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

Told you I had more than one edition of this! I needed the hardcover of this to match my hardcover of ACOTAR, obviously! 

The Wicked + The Divine

I've been eying this up for ages, and everyone raves about it so I thought I'd finally go for it, God bless used book stores!

Another used book store find, and another graphic novel that's been raved about to me again, and again! 

Wonder Woman Odyssey

My third used book store find, and a Wonder Woman comic I've been after for a while! 

Fairy Tail Volumes 7-24

Still frantically trying to catch up...there's only like 39 volumes left to get? I think? Or maybe it's 40 because I think there's one coming out soon?

I can proudly say I'm all caught up on this one now! Well...actually owning the books wise, I need to actually read them! 

Blue Exorcist Volume 15 

This is legit the only manga I am caught up on, both in terms of owning it and in terms of reading it! I'm seeing the downside of being caught up though, having to wait for the next volumes!

The Seven Deadly Sins Volumes 7-14 

Another manga I'm all caught up on owning-wise! I still need to read them! I keep saying I'll read a couple tonight like every day and my time management is so poor right now between these and my other books and the little projects I'm attempting to do!
