At last, the long-awaited days of tranquility are here! Tanya begins attending war college, where she spends her time feasting in leisure. But who would've thought that a conversation with General von Zettour would lead to another turn of events...! Will her days of delicious bread and clean bed sheets come to an end? 

Tanya, Tanya, Tanya. When will you learn that every time you speak and try to weasel your way to the rear...you end up doing exactly the opposite?! She's determined to get to the rear track but she just keeps digging herself a bigger and bigger hole, and it's genuinely hilarious. Especially when you can see the thoughts of the other officers as well as hers and how they're really not lining up how she wants. They see her as some determined, dedicated, ruthless, badass. 

Tanya does do something that she probably shouldn't have this volume....she uses her real world knowledge to plant the idea of a World War in everyone's minds. I'm not sure what's going to happen with that, or how it's going to go down but I kind of wanted to smack her one. 

Tanya gets given more responsibility this volume, but it remains to be seen what she'll do with it. Interestingly we slip ahead to the future?! And we see a group attempting to piece together the "eleventh goddess" who I'm assuming is Tanya, as they try to work out who she is, what she was doing and so on. I'm really curious about this direction in the storytelling. Is it there at the end to keep our interest? Is it going to carry on and provide some clues to the direction of the story? Either way it's an interesting choice and I'm assuming we're going back to Tanya for next volume.

After being reborn, Tanya has earned the right to be called an Ace and is steadily climbing the ranks. But as much as she wishes to be placed in the safety of the rear, for some reason she keeps winding up at the very edge of the front lines! While swearing revenge on Being X, Tanya's days of brutal combat alongside her beautiful subordinate, Visha, have begun... 

I have to say, the art for this series is brilliant, once again! The war scenes are fantastically drawn, and I like how it doesn't glorify it or try to make it cute either, it's quite brutal and realistic. The only "cute" thing is Tanya...in a creepy, crazy eyes kind of way. 

Speaking of, Tanya's at it again with her self serving thoughts! They hilariously contrast with everyone else who has entirely the wrong idea about her, it never fails to make me chuckle. One of the other characters, her new subordinate Visha, actually thinks she's a "kind person who wants peace" and I fully snorted out loud. 

Tanya does give me a chuckle, she's this little kid cursing and being low-key evil, but she also gives me the shivers at the same time!? 

Tanya is sent on a rescue mission, and this volume has the story moving along swiftly as we see some more brilliant tactics and Tanya's ruthless drive to succeed...before moving along to college?! I can't believe I find myself rooting for her?!

When the average Japanese salaryman is suddenly thrown into in a world wracked with warfare and hardship by a supernatural power, they might first think to hide or run away. But not Tanya Degurechaff. A calculating and utilitarian man has been reborn as a child soldier. This young girl will do anything to rise in rank and find a way to live a life of comfort, and woe to any king, country, or god who stands in her way. 

First off, I really liked the art and the colour palette used for the colour pages, it was kind of gritty and lent it a vintage, WW2 air. Which of course fit very nicely with the story and the setting, which is kind of 30's, WW2 but alternate kind of thing! 

Our MC was kind of a douche before he was reborn and he had it coming really, I'm not going to lie. But I have to say, I did really like Tanya as an MC, I was oddly rooting for her to get her revenge on Being X and the other characters she didn't like and so on. She made me chuckle, and her inner monologue was priceless. I absolutely loved how they showed her inner thoughts and then the inner thoughts of some of the characters she was talking to, and they completely didn't line up. It was freaking hilarious. 

There's plenty of action and battles as well as strategy, plus helpful little boxes pop up informing you of what the different tactics and strategies are as well as other things mentioned throughout like historical battles and so on. 

It's actually oddly humorous because Tanya keeps getting the opposite of what she wants and the Gods are genuinely, 100% messing with her. I'm so curious to see what things are going to be thrown at her next! Plus she just wants to chill out in the rear out of danger but keeps getting pulled into helping a mad scientist with his dangerous experiments and being thrown out on to the front line. She's like a vengeful, spitting cat, she really reminds me of the old witch woman from Emperor's New Groove when she's in cat form. That's Tanya exactly! 

Tanya is totally psychotic and she does waffle a lot, this volume is establishing everything but towards the end a new character is introduced who could prove to be interesting. A fellow Tanya perhaps? The art is beautifully drawn though, particularly the backgrounds and the landscapes, and it's certainly an interesting take on the whole "Reborn in another world" trope. One of the more interesting ones so far. The only reason I gave this three stars instead of four was because I was a bit confused about who was on which side at the beginning, and there was just so much narrative at one point!
