MgRonald is closed for renovations which means the Devil King is temporarily out of a job! His hunt for employment takes him all the way to the Nagano prefecture where he'll get a taste of agricultural life. Can Maou survive his time in the sticks, or is he simply too city spoiled?
The Devil goes farming y'all, and it's absolutely hilarious watching Urushihara struggle...and everyone think he's going to die. But at the same time...you've gotta think about the poor guy...being separated from his computer for that long. It must be horrifying.
Chiho's family need help on their farm to harvest everything before it goes bad and seeing as their place of work is closed...she drags Maou along with her....plus the other demons. Of course it's not long before Emi and Suzuno pop up too!
Maou surprisingly seems to be enjoying himself, but things get real as he and Emi have a chat. Considering Maou destroyed all the farms on Ante Isla...including hers. I feel like this volume lets us see how Maou has grown as a character, he's thinking about his past actions and how and why those actions are wrong and should be changed...or could be changed in the future. He's basically realising he's wrong and why and he actually throws some quite deep thoughts at us.
However, it's not all smooth sailing this volume, we do get a liiiiittle bit of action in the form of a bear attack and it looks like there's going to be trouble next volume as we have a thief and Maou and his friends as outsiders are instant suspects. This is another slow volume, but the pace is going to pick up again next volume!
