An overheard confession sends Kuro into a meltdown! Literally! In the aftermath, it seems that her various personalities have all been expelled into the real world, but can the three-headed Cerberus survive as three distinct individuals?!?

So, last volume there was a little confession that you guys may or may not remember and in this volume we see the repercussions of it. Chiaki has to deal with it as well as his own feelings and when Kuro overhears, she has to deal with her feelings. We also fiiinally get to find out why she's been kept separate from the other heads!

I feel like the romance steps up a bit with this volume with the whole Chiaki and Komone thing, but I'm not going to lie...I kinda ship Chiaki and Kuro, especially after his little rush to rescue her. So cute. I actually felt really bad for Kuro this volume, we get a lot of her and get to know her a lot better. I found her really relatable and I actually got a wee bit annoyed at Komone because of it. Kuro's just so innocent and not as jaded as the others.

There's a shocking new development because of all of this, that should prove to be interesting and help us get to know Kuro, Roze and Shirogani better in the coming chapters! I'm actually excited to see if it'll be resolved and if so how, and for everything that's going to happen to it! Not to mention the whole Haruna thing. He's a new character and he is shady as f****. Seriously. So shady and totally up to no good!

Volume Five really steps things up with the romance, but mostly with the characters as we delve deeper in to some, while others come to terms with their problems and how to overcome them. I feel like the story is really about to start now after said previously mentioned development!

Review: Today's Cerberus Vol 4

Supernatural beings aren't the only ones drawn to Chiaki: A blast from his past drops by unexpectedly...and claims to be his fiancée?! When Minnie blows into town, Roze is forced to confront her own feelings for Chiaki. But is she willing to sacrifice her affections for a chance to reclaim the missing piece of Chiaki's soul...?

I'm really loving this series because it's a lot of fun, it makes me laugh and it has a fair bit of mythology to it and this volume didn't let me down in that aspect at all! I even feel like it might take a more serious turn, but don't panic guys! I'm fairly sure it'll still keep the humour up!

I have to say, Jormungand is definitely up to something and curious as to what that is, although I'm excited she'll be sticking around a bit longer and I'm hoping some of the others might pop back up! I'm even feeling a bit suspicious of Chiaki's mysterious Dad in this volume as Minnie's off to update him on Chiaki.

With Minnie's departure, we get more of Komone which was really nice for me because I quite like her and I was disappointed we didn't get as much of her with Minnie there. I'm not going to lie, I'm really rooting for her! I'm also rooting for Roze because she is determined to stick up for herself in this book and I was like YAAAS ROZE YOU TELL HER!

I was excited to meet Chihiro, Chiaki's older sister properly in this volume, it'd be nice to see more of her because I have a feeling she'd stir things up a bit and make it interesting! Particularly with the romance situation that's going on. And speaking of, I feel like the romance is really stepping up a bit in this volume, especially after the end of this volume! I was sitting there like NO WAY! She said the thing! Oh my GOOOOD! And there's a date too! Although the two aren't really related!

We get a new 'monster' in this volume, a fox spirit, which made for some interesting reactions and I'm enjoying getting a new monster each volume, and waiting to see what one it is! It reminds me of the old Supernatural episodes with the monster of the week type thing going on...except there's more romance and humour in Today's Cerberus...and Today's Cerberus has cuter monsters.

Today's Cerberus Volume 4 continues to have cute artwork, and it moves at a nice pace stepping up the romance and throwing in some intriguing plot threads to the narrative. I'm waiting to see what's going to happen next....how everything is going to turn out and what surprises are in store. The romance is stepping up and I'm interested to see where that will go, but I'm enjoying the fact we have monsters and mysteries and other things going on with it. I'm also excited to see if I'm right and this is going to take a more serious turn...but we'll see!

I just really love reading Today's Cerberus, it's a mood lifter! The combination of cute, humour and other things just picks your mood up and puts you in a good place when you read it!

Manga: Today's Cerberus Vol 3

The mythical beast Fenrir has set her sights on Chiaki, and Shirogane in particular is none to happy with the competition. It's dog versus wolf in this showdown that will bring the whole school to its knees! Who will come out on top?!

I'm not going to lie, I feel like this series keeps getting better and better, and more and more fun! As you can tell from the synopsis Fenrir makes an appearance in this volume, and heralds the arrival of Norse mythology in this series. I love Norse mythology as much as I love Greek and Egyptian mythology so I was so totally stoked to see Fenrir make an appearance closely followed by her siblings Hel and Jormungand!

As I was reading the chapter with them, I was thinking "please stick around...please don't be for just a chapter or two" and then they popped back up again. I'm like 75% sure they're here to stay and may or may not be a permanent fixture, which makes me really excited!

Chiaki has a new friend in this volume, and I LOVE IT! Seriously. Idora's little cat buddy makes for some fun interactions with Cerberus too! I'm really enjoying the dynamics to Chiaki's growing friendship group and seeing Chiaki interact with them. The romance aspect steps up a bit with the arrival of Minnie, a childhood friend of Chiaki's who totally has a thing for him and takes something from their childhood the wrong way, and we all know how Roze feels....so....yeah. But we also have a potential solution to Chiakis little problem, which could prove to be very interesting.

Volume 3 is just as fun and crazy as the other volumes, but we get to see some of Chiaki's past and get to know him a little better, this volume basically adds a little bit of depth to the story. We also got to see some more of Shirogane in action! This is one of those series that I genuinely look forward to each new volume for because it makes me chuckle, and it's entertaining! I'm hoping the Norse characters are going to stick around a bit more and I'm intrigued by the romance situation! This is such a fun slice of life but with you know....mythology!

Manga: Today's Cerberus

As a young boy, Chiaki Mikado had an encounter with an unusual, three-headed puppy, and as a consequence of a bite from that dog, he lost a piece of his soul. Now a teenager, he finds himself unable to enjoy anything, but the three-headed dog is back in human form -- or more accurately forms -- to fix all that!

Turns out that the three heads of the mythical guardian to the gates of the underworld are actually unique individuals, and each a pretty young girl at that! With his new roommate(s) leading the charge, can Chiaki experience the happiness that has so long eluded him?

This manga is so cute you guys! I love Greek Mythology so you know...how could I resist a manga with the word Cerberus in the title! I have to say, I really love the myth and every day life that's been blended together in this manga, there was a lot more myth elements to this than I originally thought there would be and I was pleasantly surprised. On top of that, it had a good pace, and it's funny! I really, genuinely enjoyed reading this and all the crazy situations the characters got themselves in to.

We have Chiaki who got bitten by baby Cerberus and is now losing a part of his soul so he can't really feel/display emotion, which was funnier than it really should have been with his dodgy smile! Then there's Cerberus who you know...has three heads usually. But in this manga Cerberus has three forms and has come to guard Chiaki. We have Kuro who is in charge most of the time, she's like a little kid and it's totally adorable. Shirogane is the second head, and she's the kick ass one who does all the fighting, and finally there's Roze. Roze is the one who bit Chiaki and so wants to make it up to him, she's voluntarily sealed her power away and she's the thoughtful and quiet one.

There are plenty of cliches/tropes in this book, but I honestly didn't really care. It was just so fun and cute, and it was a light read and it's one of those manga that you can pick up and it'll bring a smile to your face and lift your mood as you read it! Despite outward appearances, not every single girl in this manga is in love with Chiaki, which was nice and refreshing and kind of another shock. I'm not going to lie. Having said that, I'm not even entirely sure that one of the girls actually is but we'll see how it plays out! There is one love interest though for definite and I enjoyed watching the struggle she had with her own little problems!

I enjoyed the art work to this, I enjoyed being surprised by it and it's contents. I enjoyed how authentic and believable the characters where. They where very relatable including the non-human ones! I enjoyed this even more the second time around, and I look forward to what's coming next!
