June Book Haul

Hey guys!
It's time for my June Book Haul! I'm gonna keep this as simple and fast as possible, I've been slacking on the blogging because I have so much stuff to do!
I've had another month full of things to be grateful for, and with a lot of epic post!

So first up are the books that I have been lucky enough to receive from publishers!

Red's Untold Tale by Wendy Toliver
I am a HUGE Once Upon A Time fan so when I got emailed asking if I'd like to review this it was kind of a no brainer! Red is one of my favourite characters and I wish she was in the show more!

I love me some dragons and this sounds super intriguing, it's been described as "Guardians of the Galaxy meets The Hobbit"...two of my favourite movies!

Imprudence by Gail Carriger
The sequel in a spin off series from Carrigers Parasol Protectorate, and I'm so excited to see what happens next! I'm definitely going to make time to re-read the previous book because I LOVE these books!

Duskfall by Christopher Husberg
I'm being spoiled with fantasy and this one sounds like it's going to be one of the good ones, I'm excited to get started on it!

All The Feels by Danika Stone
Okay so at the time of writing this post, I've just started this and I had to force myself to stop reading it because it's completely hilarious and I would have stayed up until the early hours reading it in one go!

Songs About A Girl by Chris Russell
I've heard a lot about this book and I'm intrigued to see what all the hype is about! Plus I'm a sucker for boyband fiction shhhhh! This also came with a link to a playlist to match the book...how awesome!?

I was hooked on this by the title, not going to lie! It screams unique and steampunk at very loud volumes and the synopsis sounds brilliant!

Vigil by Angela Slatter
The synopsis hauled me in on this one because it sounds so original, keep an eye on the blog because I'm gonna be doing the blog tour for this one!

This was a surprise in the post, and I love Star Wars books and I saw everyone raving about the first book! This is obviously the sequel to the first book, and I think I'm gonna have to pick up the first one now!

King Slayer by Virginia Boecker
One of my most anticipated sequels of the year, I completely loved Witch Hunter when I read it last year and I've been so excited to see what's going to happen next!

The Shadow Hour by Melissa Grey
Another of my most anticipated sequels, the first book kind of made my month when I read it last year, and pulled me in to this fantastic world that helped me to block some other stuff out, and I've been so excited to get back there and see how my ship is doing!

Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine
Aaaaannnd a third for the 'Most Anticipated Sequel' category, although I only read the first book recently, Caine is kind of an auto-buy author for me! I just loved the first book, once it got going!

I got a couple of really cool books this month, as well as some manga which I stared at on the shelf for ages and ultimately forgot to add to this....oops? I'm sure you can guess which manga it is anyway!

These Vicious Masks by Tarun Shanker & Kelly Zekas
Not going to lie, the cover drew me in, and then I read the synopsis and it was like...NEED. So I finally picked it up!

Thief of Lies by Brenda Drake
I actually already read this because I reviewed it on NetGalley, but I wanted a finished copy because I loved it so much and I managed to get a bargain!

Ruined by Amy Tintera
Another bargain! I couldn't resist this one because everyone's been raving about it and it was in Fairy Loot's box and I couldn't resist after reading the synopsis!

The Near Witch by V E Schwab
This book has been missing from my Schwab collection, along with the sequel to The Archived! This book is really tricky to get hold of, you can only get it if you buy it used, but I just NEED all of the authors books so whatever!

Soulless by Gail Carriger
I love Carriger's books and so of course I had to get the super fancy, limited edition of the first book in the Soulless series! If you think the cover is gorgeous...you should see the endpapers!

Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman
I've been after this for a while, ever since it was making the rounds last year at all the book con's and I finally picked it up because I'd had a crappy day and was like "screw it" basically!

Aaaannd finally we have my haul from the charity book shop trip that I was tweeting about the other day! I don't know why people have a problem with charity shops, I mean...cheap books and the money goes to charity?! Aside from the snatching incident which I'm still not over because 50TH ANNIVERSARY LORD OF THE RINGS SNATCHED FROM UNDER MY FINGERS. But yeah.

The Bloody Red Baron by Kim Newman
I'm slowly collecting all the Anno Dracula books and this is one of the ones I needed it and it honestly looks like it has never been read! Bargaaaain!

The Axeman's Jazz by Ray Celestin
This intrigued me...history...murder...New Orleans...what's not to love?

The Court of The Air by Stephen Hunt
Not going to lie, I first looked at this book because of the cover and I'd been debating it for ages and ages so when I saw it looking all brand new I thought...why not!?

The sequel to the book above....obviously I needed to get the sequel because ya know....once I've read the first book I need to read the second!

Retromancer by Robert Rankin
This just sounded interesting and had a pretty cover. I'm simple/shallow like that.

The Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Another author who's books I'm collecting! Another one checked off the list!

Lady Audley's Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon
I collect all the Penguin English Library's and I was actually surprised to see this in the shop!

Because I'm thick and not as literary as others, I had no idea the author had written other books, and this edition just so happened to match by Cather in the Rye edition.

Nanny Oggs Cookbook by Terry Pratchett
Once again, I collect all of the authors books and I know it's not an ACTUAL book per se but still!

Aaaannnd there you have my book haul! It's missing a few things that just turned up the other day, but you can see them on Twitter!

May Book Haul

It's time for another hardcore book haul!
I was given some book money this month and while my brain said "save it" my heart was like LOL eff that. So there we go.

As usual, first up are the books I was lucky enough to receive from publishers, as well as a late birthday present that's completely awesome! I spend a lot of time feeling ridiculously grateful, not going to lie!

Soldier by Julie Kagawa
The third book in a brilliant series full of dragons and action! It's been one of my long awaited releases for the year!

The synopsis for this intrigued me, contemporary fantasy with magic and magicians and a war all in Manhattan! I love all things original and a little bit different, and this sounds like a load of fun on top of that.

The Veil by Chloe Neill
I am a huge Chloe Neill fan, and I've been so excited for this new series! A post war New Orleans with a prison at its centre for the paranormal/supernatural creatures.

This Savage Song by V.E Schwab
One of my most anticipated reads of the year and a start to a brand new series, or rather duology, by one of my favourite authors! Schwab always rights original books, with plenty of twists and brilliant writing to boot!

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
I've got a lot of fantasy books on my shelves, I love fantasy more and more, the more of it I read. There's always originality to them, and magic and adventure and this one has plenty of it! Three queens, three different magical powers, and one crown. Oh and not everything is as it seems.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas
BOOM. Perhaps THE most anticipated book of the year for me, and having read it? The BEST book I have read this year. I can't even! I have like three editions as well!

Cruel Crown by Victoria Aveyard
This is one of my birthday presents from Rebecca! She knows me SO well and I've been so eager to get hold of this novella collection that goes with Red Queen!

The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury
The second part of my birthday present from Rebecca and she's found me a completely awesome sounding fantasy, that I can't wait to get started on!

Lois Lane: Double Down by Gwenda Bond
The sequel to Lois Lane Fallout, and I'm excited to see what's next for Lois! I completely loved how the author portrayed Lois in the first book, and what she's doing with the character!

The Inquisition by Taran Matharu
Another of my most anticipated reads of the year and the sequel to the Novice! These books are bursting at the seems with originality, and magic and fun, and they leave me wanting more!

The first book in a spin off from Percy Jackson and all about Apollo who's been cast out, turned mortal and chucked in to Camp Half Blood until he sorts himself out!

The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye
Another brilliant fantasy set in the Ottoman Empire, there's going to be magic, romance and a whole lot of drama, I think! I'm loving the sound of this book and what's in store, PLUS I'm on the blog tour for this book, and my date is the 27th, so keep an eye out! I'll have an article to go with the review!

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
Fantasy! I love fantasy! I keep saying it but I really do, I love being able to get lost in all these different worlds, and this one sounds like an intriguing one. We have our main character, the daughter of a traitor and she's training to become an assassin....I got sent a quiz with this proof to find out what House I would be in and man has it intrigued me!

Tales From The Kingdoms by Sarah Pinborough
A gorgeous book full of the fairy tales we know and love...but all twisty and dark! These truly blew me away and I loved seeing the spins the author put on them!

Alice by Christina Henry
Alice in Wonderland fans are going to love this! The author takes the classic tales Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass, and she puts a dark fantasy twist on them, creating a horrifying , disturbing and deeply compelling page turner. That's how I was sold it! Sounds awesome right?

New Pompeii by Daniel Godfrey
This one sold me with the words "Jurassic Park and Gladiator collide" I'm not going to lie. It sounds like it's going to be a stunning debut, set in the near future and with a replica of Pompeii full of Romans...it sounds brilliant!

Aaannndd here's the books I bought this month! So basically, with the money I earned and the money I was given as a gift combined...I had a lot and like I said, I really should have probably saved some but I have no self control and here we are. I figure most of you saw my book mail photo on twitter the other day so I didn't need to include EVERYTHING in the photo! Like every single volume of manga!

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
God bless Waterstones and their stamp cards! I needed these because of the completely stunning spines...obviously!

Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine
Gorgeous hardcover....favourite author....end of story! It's also quite a bookish book!

Half A War by Joe Abercrombie
The final book in a trilogy that I am loving, the hardcover is completely gorgeous! The endpapers are stunning!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas
Told you I had more than one edition of this! I needed the hardcover of this to match my hardcover of ACOTAR, obviously!

I've been eying this up for ages, and everyone raves about it so I thought I'd finally go for it, God bless used book stores!

Another used book store find, and another graphic novel that's been raved about to me again, and again!

My third used book store find, and a Wonder Woman comic I've been after for a while!

Still frantically trying to catch up...there's only like 39 volumes left to get? I think? Or maybe it's 40 because I think there's one coming out soon?

Seraph of The End Volumes 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8
I can proudly say I'm all caught up on this one now! Well...actually owning the books wise, I need to actually read them!

This is legit the only manga I am caught up on, both in terms of owning it and in terms of reading it! I'm seeing the downside of being caught up though, having to wait for the next volumes!

The Seven Deadly Sins Volumes 7-14
Another manga I'm all caught up on owning-wise! I still need to read them! I keep saying I'll read a couple tonight like every day and my time management is so poor right now between these and my other books and the little projects I'm attempting to do!

What did you guys buy or receive this month?

March Book Haul

Hey guys!
I've already shared my Birthday Book Haul with you all, so now it's time for the standard Book Haul!
I was very lucky this month, and I'm so grateful to the various publishers who where nice enough to let me review their books! I was also super lucky in that...I actually won something! I rarely ever win anything and here I won twice!

Books Bought:

Prudence is a book I've been meaning to get for a while because it's the first book in a  spin off series from The Parasol Protectorate series that I love! It's all steampunk and supernatural, and they're so much fun! So I'm excited to finally get to read this! God bless Waterstones stamp reward cards!

This is a sequel, and I still haven't actually read the first one but I needed to get a second book for the Waterstones thing and I thought...why not, then when I do read the first book I can get straight in to the second one! I'm actually planning on reading them soon, I swear!

Do I need to say anything? I totally pre-ordered this because I wanted the really awesome pre-order cards that the author was doing! I can't wait to read what happens next, A Darker Shade of Magic was one of my favourite books of 2015, and AGOS has been one of my most anticipated! I think I'm gonna try and get to it this month!

I actually still need to get this in hardcover because the hardcover is gorgeous, this is Waterstones fault again, because I had points and the paperback has a really cool demonology bit in the back and some of the drawings are kind of cute, not going to lie! This book is so much fun, and it's so original, I got to review it and it was such a fantastic read!

I actually broke the book buying ban for this first because I freaking love Gena Showalter, and Book Depository had signed editions for sale and the chances of me ever meeting the author and getting her to sign a copy are really slim so I thought why not! I'm so intrigued by this as it's a different direction to her usual Teen!

Books Received:

I was sent five of these to review and I'm so grateful because these are fantastic little editions! There's not just the writings but there's information in the book about the author and the story as well as a quote page. I'm definitely going to have to collect these.

This is a fairy tale retelling, Snow White in particular and you all need to read this, especially if you love OUAT! It's original, the twists on the original tale are brilliant, it's funny, the romance is perfect and there's plenty of action and plot twists as well as fantastic characters! It's a genuine "can't put down" book!

The third book in a series by one of my favourite authors, I've literally just started it after re-reading the first two! I love all of Joss's books, and these ones are thrillers, there's a detective agency for teens, there's mystery and romance, and Joss writes perfect romance that brings the warm and fuzzies!

Another third book! This is a steampunk series that's full of brilliantly complex mysteries and plots, as well as a very Sherlock/Watson duo in the form of Newbury and Hobbes. I'm always surprised and kept on my toes and the writing is gorgeous!

In this we have Warlock Holmes who's a bit of a dimwit, lucky for him he has Dr Watson. This book has 6 Sherlock Holmes stories reimagined, and they sound completely awesome! I'm excited to review this!

Novella bind up alert! This is a bind up of three of the Virals novellas plus a brand new one set after the last Virals novel, and these novellas are pure perfection!

Exactly what it says, World Mythology, concisely written to give you the maximum information without having to spend pages and pages reading about it all. It's straight to the point and tells you exactly what you need to know!

A collection of quotes from her works and her personal letters to other family members and acquaintances. It's a fantastic collection of quotes about all different kinds of things.

The Alma Edition of an Austen classic, in this we have Anne who isn't treated too brilliantly by her family, and she ends up coming face to face with a lost love. Luckily the feelings are still there, there's just a couple of bumps in the road to get out the way!

Drawing master Walter winds up at the home of Laura and Marian after an eerie encounter with a woman in white. Falling for Laura would have been okay...if Laura wasn't engaged to be married to Percival who is as shady as they come. Percival has a friend, equally as shady, in the form of Count Fosco, and they're definitely up to no good!

Books Won:
I basically never get to do this category! But a miracle happened and I won a couple things!

I totally won a signed copy from Maximum Pop Books and I've been so excited for this book, it's one of my most anticipated and it sounds so awesome! Excited as I am to read this, I'm a bit wary because like...it's signed and I don't want to damage it!

I won this lovely edition from a lovely lady called Emma! I collect the Penguin English Library editions, and I'm going to be reading this for this months classics challenge! I'm excited to read another Austen, I've already read two and I'm working my through her entire works!

So that is my March Book Haul and I'm so ridiculously grateful! Let me know what you hauled in March, down below!

Birthday Book Haul

Hey guys! I know I promised I'd do a Birthday Book Haul video, but what with me being sick and not really feeling up to doing videos, I thought I'd do a blog post instead! I know it's not the same but still! I'm thinking I probably won't get the months Haul or Wrap Up done and possibly not my TBR either, sorry guys! Anyway.....haul time!

I had a very bookish birthday, I got books...obviously, but I also got some other bookish things, Slytherin Scarf, book Pandora charm, Harry Potter top and so on! I also got a decent chunk of money, which I used for Manga! I'm trying to catch up on Fairy Tail, Blue Exorcist and Seven Deadly Sins! They've not all arrived which is why they aren't pictured but I got Blue Exorcist Volumes 1-10, Fairy Tail Volumes 1-4 and Seven Deadly Sins Volumes 1-4! Manga is something I've recently started reading, I was getting Sword Art Online from the library and a couple of others, but I've watched the Anime for all three of these and decided I needed them for my collection! I know you all know there's a load of books that I'm after and I probably should have used the money for those...but they'd sit on my TBR shelf for ages, and Manga....well....I'm super fast at reading it so they don't take up shelf space on my TBR...basically!

So what books did I receive? Well as you can see in the photos...a fair few!

I got the super fancy edition of Death Note, it's got Volumes 1&2 in it and the edges are BLACK SPRAYED! I'm so in love! Although, it's going to be really hard to read without getting my fingerprints all over it!

As you all know I collect various different editions of classics and I got two clothbounds for my collection! Anna Karenina and Wuthering Heights! They're so gorgeous, I really love the clothbounds because they're easy to read without damaging them, and they're ya know...really pretty!

Next up is Lady Midnight and it's the super fancy Limited Edition version from Waterstones! I actually knew I was getting this and got it early when it came out! I'm kinda hoping the other two books will get a fancy edition too, but then at the same time my shelves are probably hoping they won't!

I'm such a Game of Thrones fan, I have a shelf dedicated to all of the books and for my birthday I got the four graphic novel volumes! I've been eyeing them up for ages, because the art is completely gorgeous, and I'm planning to spend a day sitting and reading them and relieving back to before most of the pain and suffering started.

As some of you may have seen, as part of my birthday week I got to take a trip to a kinda local comic shop and I came out with two! Harley Quinn and Power Girl because I love Harley Quinn okay, she's my favourite and I have all the individual comics but for Power Girl I decided I'd wait and get the bind up! Although now I think I'm gonna do that with Harley Quinn because I have no space left!

I also got Spider-Gwen Vol 0 because I've heard a lot of good things about it and it's been intriguing me! I still need to actually read this one! So I managed to grab two of the bind ups that I've been after for aggeeesss and I still need to sit down and read both, because I've not had time yet! I'm thinking of taking it slower and stopping the current review pace I have because I'm burning myself out and I'm losing the fun of YouTubing and reviewing!

Soooo that's my birthday book haul! I'm really sorry I couldn't do the video as promised, it's just I'm all fuzzy headed and snotty nosed and gross and I'm not really in the mood to drag myself out of bed and slap some makeup on you know? Plus editing the videos wouldn't be too great either with the fuzzy had! I'm hoping to return to normal starting with the Classic of the month, but I'm not entirely sure whether I will be, I'll definitely be back for the regular hauls/wrap ups etc in April and the May TBR! I think I might do this months as blog posts if no-one objects?!

Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday, I had such a fantastic day and so many of you where so lovely!
