Popular Series That I Haven't Read

Hey guuuuyyys!
So, I've been trying to think of other kinds of posts I could do, if you have any ideas, pop them in the comments! I'd love to hear what you guys would like me to post! Because of that....I've got a list of some ideas, and I'll probably be posting a fair few of them as I don't have many reviews left for the year! I'm debating posting once or twice a week or posting near daily!

Anyway, one of my ideas was ten popular book series that I haven't read. Now, I would love to be able to read super freaking fast, and read every book ever, but unfortunately I don't have that ability! I'm not sure if this is going to be all that surprising seeing as there's nothing like Harry Potter on there but we'll see! I do actually want to read all of these, I'm just not sure if I'll get around to it!

1. The Lunar Chronicles

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

So, I'd not really heard about this series until I joined the Tumblr book community. I've heard so much about it now and the final one is out now, and I'm hoping I'll get round to it eventually!

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

This is another one that I've heard so much about because it's all over Tumblr! Unlike Cinder, I had actually come across this one before Tumblr, I've just not been too sure about it!

Mara Dyer believes life can't get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her strangely unharmed.
There is.

She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
She's wrong.

Again....Tumblr loves this series! There's so many photos of it looking all pretty, along with like every other book ever but still! Tumblr photos really influence my buying lately haha! I'm not entirely sure this is my kind of thing, but I'm curious now and someone on GoodReads has asked me to for my photos so we'll see!

Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a greek god.

I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. Now I spend my time battling monsters and generally trying to stay alive.

This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.

I can hear everyone on Tumblr screaming at me right now, but hear me out! I  have all of these on my shelf okay! They're sitting there staring at me and I'm really hoping to get to them soon, but it will more likely be the New Year because it's taking me ages to read right now!

Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grows dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands", she speaks many languages - not all of them human - and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.

When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

Everyone seems to love this trilogy, so I'm really not entirely sure why I've never picked it up and read it! I've looked at it a few times, there's a really gorgeous hardcover gift set which is swaying me slightly, because I'm a sucker for a gorgeous cover!

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Seriously, everyone always raves about pretty much all of these, and this one is no exception. I've debated this one so many times, I'm just not sure if it's my kind of thing but I'm sure curiosity will win out!

When Lyra's friend Roger disappears, she and her dæmon, Pantalaimon, determine to find him.

The ensuing quest leads them to the bleak splendour of the North, where armoured bears rule the ice and witch-queens fly through the frozen skies - and where a team of scientists is conducting experiments too horrible to be spoken about.

Lyra overcomes these strange terrors, only to find something yet more perilous waiting for her - something with consequences which may even reach beyond the Northern Lights...

I've only ever admitted this once. I genuinely feel like it's some sort of dirty secret that I shouldn't admit to. My deep, dark shame haha! I don't even own these shhhh! I read pretty much anything I could get my hands on so I genuinely have no idea why I haven't read these!

Can Anna find love in the City of Light?

Anna is happy in Atlanta. She has a loyal best friend and a crush on her coworker at the movie theater, who is just starting to return her affection. So she's less than thrilled when her father decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year.

But despite not speaking a word of French, Anna meets some cool new people, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair, who quickly becomes her best friend. Unfortunately, he's taken —and Anna might be, too. Will a year of romantic near misses end with the French kiss she's waiting for?

Another Tumblr favourite, I don't usually do contemporary I just prefer fantasy or historical or paranormal and so on so that's the only reason I haven't picked this series up and gotten involved! I do actually have the first one on my Kindle because Amazon had it for 99p and I kept looking at it and just decided to do it!

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

I know I know, this one is probably quite shocking because seemingly EVERYONE has read it! I have all three on my shelf. I was always wanting to read this but I never got around to it and then eventually all three had been published and everything! I've not even seen the film yet because I want to read the book first! I'm just being put off slightly because I've seen mixed things about the final two books in the trilogy!

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

This is another one I've heard about on Tumblr so much recently, but I've heard mixed things about it so I'm not entirely sure about starting it! It does sound good though, to be honest!

  1. I've actually read quite a few from your list, which surprises me because I also have a lot of popular series unread *cough* Harry Potter *cough* If you ever want to tackle your list, I'd say try The Selection and Shatter me series. They are both really quick reads. I honestly feel like if I reread The Selection series I wouldn't like it, though, but at the time it will pure fluffy goodness. I also haven't read Divergent. I have seen the first movie, though. I was spoiled for the ending of Insurgent so I'm not really sure if I'll ever read it. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is AMAZING! It's the only book from the series I have read, but it has such an awesome fantastical world. :D

    1. Ooohh you should get on Harry Potter this month! It's a good one to read at Christmas, even though it isn't actually Christmas themed if you know what I mean! I actually have The Selection sitting on my shelf, I just need to get to it, I might do it soon because I need some fluffy goodness in my life right now! Shatter me I've heard mixed things about, people over on Tumblr rave about it so I'm more and more tempted!
See, I haven't seen Divergent because I was like...I wanna read the book first and then everyone started going on about how terrible the second book was and I got put off, so they just sit on my shelves, staring at me. I'm excited for Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I need to actually buy them though! The more I hear about it, the more I'm like MUST REAAADD!
